About Microtran   Microtran Power Systems Analysis corporation is a spinoff company of the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.  This company was established to further develop and market the electromagnetic transients analysis program often referred to as the "UBC version of the EMTP". Microtran was founded in 1987 by: Hermann W. Dommel  (University of British Columbia), Jose R. Marti (University of British Columbia), and Luis Marti (University of Western Ontario, Hydro One Networks Inc.) Professor Dommel is, of course, the father of the EMTP, which he originally developed in the late 1960s.  The Marti gang has been associated with EMTP developement for a lot longer than they care to admit, and are responsible for many of the advanced models used in all versions of the EMTP to date.
